At the end of key stage 1, during year 2, your child will sit SATs in English. These can be a challenge for many children, particularly if during key stage 1, acquiring reading skills has been difficult for your child.

As a Private English Tutor, Jenny can provide  “catch up “ lessons as she is experienced in teaching phonics and decoding skills. These catch up sessions can  help to improve a child’s reading age before they sit the SATs  tests which include reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling.

As a former year 2 teacher Jenny can help your child to feel relaxed and confident and to become more familiar with what’s required for these tests so they have no worries or concerns.  

As an English graduate, with a love of language and literature Jenny can fully prepare your child, from lower key stage 2 (years 3 and 4) onwards for the challenge of the English SATs in Year 6 which have a strong emphasis on grammatical terms and comprehension.
